Cade and Chantelle Plotts - Beaded Rosaries

Artist Statement:

Rosaries are a set of christian prayer beads, and while making them we focus on highlighting the transcendental of our work, namely beauty. Many Catholics pray the Rosary daily and we want to make our work as beautiful as possible so as to remind people of the beauty of God. We also want each Rosary to feel good in the hand and work with a simple design that includes 49 strand wire that flows smoothly. In our work we try to combine as much function and beauty as we can!

Artist Bio:

Cade and Chantelle are both currently living in Laramie WY. Previously Cade was a professional wood worker and would make icons in his spare time. " I recently moved to Wyoming from Ohio to be with my fiancee, so I lost access to my wood shop. Making Rosaries felt like a natural outlet of my creativity and expression of my faith, since I'm not longer able to make Icons." Chantelle has been at Rosary making a bit longer. A long time Laramieite, she knows that you have to have a winter hobby during those long cold months. " Sometimes it's just to darn cold to go skiing! I've always liked keeping my hands busy and Rosary making is very meditative and focusing."
